Bossa Nova Life is a full interior redesign of a high-end apartment in São Paulo, Brazil, completed in 2022. When Paulo started, the apartment was an empty shell with bare concrete floors. The owner, who lives on his own, wanted a home that felt finished, personal, and unmistakably Brazilian.
Paulo chose every layer: the finishes, the furniture for the living spaces, and the art. The design draws on his Brazilian roots and on Brazilian modern design more broadly, with natural wood tones as the base and a palette of sandy beiges and verdant greens built around them.
It's luxury apartment interior design that feels warm instead of showy. The natural materials and earthy colors give the apartment a modern organic feel, with the relaxed, tropical modern ease you find all over São Paulo.
Bossa Nova Life is one of the projects that shaped Paulo's approach before he brought his practice to the Monterey Peninsula, and that Brazilian interior design influence still shows up in his work today.
