Brisa is one of three new homes built from the ground up on a single lot in Carmel-by-the-Sea. An investor bought the property with plans for three residences, and the top priority from day one was the ocean. Every home on the lot needed an ocean view.
Paulo's role on Brisa was twofold. Working with Thomas Hood Architecture, he created 3D renderings of all three homes, helping the team study how each house would sit on the lot and where the sightlines to the water would land. Those renderings became a reference point for design decisions across the whole development.
He also handled the ADU interior design for the Brisa home. An ADU has to work harder than a typical room. It needs to function as a complete living space, feel open despite a smaller footprint, and still belong with the main house. Paulo designed this one as a luxury ADU that keeps the attention on the view.
Brisa was completed in 2025. The other two homes on the property, Treehouse and Pine Trees, each have their own project page.
